Hon. The Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Dev Vrat, Hon’ble Chancellor

The Honorable Governor was born on 18th January 1959.The Honorable Governor obtained his Graduation in Masters (History & Hindi), B. Ed. Diploma in Yoga Science, Doctor of Naturopathy and Yogic Science.

He was the Honorable Governor of Himachal Pradesh from 12 August 2015 to 21 July 2019. In the meantime, in the entire Himachal Pradesh, many projects and campaigns of Zero Budget Natural Farming, Cow Rearing and Cow Breed improvement, "Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao", Social Harmony, Drug de-addiction, "Swachh Himachal Abhiyan", Tree Plantation and Water Conservation are being implemented on a large scale by government with public participation. During this tenure, all these programs were given wide publicity in the State as well as in other States adjoining Himachal. Presently, while being the Governor of Gujarat State, all these programs have been implemented on a large scale.

During the Corona period, Corona Seva Yagya was effectively conducted by Raj Bhavan, Gujarat, under which one lakh people in need were provided essential materials and health equipment. This program became an example. The campaign running in all the universities of Gujarat on the Amrit Festival of Independence is getting success in attracting the attention of the youth, five projects of independence, five resolutions of young mind. Conduct of cleanliness campaign and tree plantation work every month in different districts and places of Gujarat.

He have 7 years experience as Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat,34 years experience of Teaching and Educational Administration,22 years’ experience in Yogic Science and Naturopathy practice,13 years’ experience in low cost Natural Farming,40 years’ experience in cow rearing and cow breed improvement work,44 years of continuous work experience for educational, social and cultural upliftment.

He has worked as Principal of Gurukul Kurukshetra from 1981 to July 2015. The unique flourishing of this institution took place during this period. In the meantime, renovation of the entire Gurukul complex, reconstruction of all buildings, all modern facilities for study, teaching and sports, establishment and development of natural hospital, development of modern cowshed, use and implementation of natural farming in 180 acres. Establishment of Arsh Mahavidyalaya, establishment of shooting range etc. were completed on a large scale. During this period, Gurukul Kurukshetra became the first choice of a large number of students. IIT, NEET, N.E. for students in Gurukul campus itself. D. A. Academy was established.

He is awarded by the American Medal of Honor on 21 August 2022 by the American Biographical Institute for significant contribution to society,Certificate of Honor in Service of Rural India by New Delhi on 19 April 2005,Samaj Seva Samman for distinguished social service by Rishi Public Welfare Trust, Kurukshetra on 8 May 2007,"Akshay Urja Samman" on 20 August 2011 by the Minister of Renewable Energy, Haryana Mr. Harmohindra Singh Chatta.
