Dear Students, Faculty Members, and the GTU Family,

As we step into another exciting year, I take immense pride in the collective achievements of Gujarat Technological University. GTU has always been a hub of innovation, learning, and transformation, and our efforts continue to redefine the landscape of education, research, and entrepreneurship. The past year has been remarkable, with GTU securing top national and international recognitions, strengthening its reputation as a center of excellence. These milestones reflect the dedication of our students, faculty, and industry partners who contribute immensely to our vision of building a future-ready institution.

GTU is committed to bridging the gap between academia and industry by integrating cutting-edge skills into our curriculum. With the implementation of NEP-2020, our focus has been on multidisciplinary learning, industry-driven training, and holistic education. Through initiatives like GTU SKILLS (Syama Prasad Mookerjee Kendra for Industry & Lifelong Learning Skills), we are fostering expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Tech, Cybersecurity, Semiconductor Technologies, and more. Our partnerships with global leaders such as Intel, AWS, IBM, L&T, and TCSiON ensure that our students remain at the forefront of technological advancements. The full-semester internship model has further strengthened industry exposure, allowing students to gain hands-on experience before stepping into the professional world. Our Skill-Based Training programs and industry-led Minor/Honors programs continue to equip students with real-world expertise in emerging domains.

GTU has established itself as a leading research-driven university, facilitating impactful studies and technological advancements. Over the past three years, we have contributed more than 600 research publications, secured 160 patents, and initiated over 10 major funded research projects. The emphasis on technology transfer has resulted in successful industry collaborations, enabling real-world applications of academic research. Our commitment to fostering innovation is evident through GTU Ventures, which has supported nearly 750 startups and created more than 4,000 jobs. Through Atal Incubation Centers, Technology Business Incubator, and Design Innovation Center, we provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the resources and mentorship needed to scale their ideas. The Technology Transfer Summit (Research to Revenue) further accelerated commercialization, bridging academic research with industry applications.

GTU’s global engagement has been another key area of growth, with expanding collaborations across Canada, Australia, Germany, and the USA. Our International Experience Program (IEP) has provided students with opportunities to gain global exposure, while dual degree programs will enhance academic mobility. We continue to drive digital transformation with initiatives like the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) framework, offering students greater flexibility in designing their academic journey.

This year, we proudly celebrated a major convocation milestone, conferring degrees upon nearly 39,000 students across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all graduates on their achievements. Your journey at GTU has equipped you with the knowledge and skills to excel, and I am confident that you will make meaningful contributions to society, industry, and the global community.

As we move forward, I encourage each of you to embrace new challenges, explore emerging opportunities, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge and society. Let us together make GTU, more than a University, by propelling a collective movement towards application-driven research, innovation, skills, and excellence.
