Dear Faculty members / Students and all Stake holders of GTU!,
Prof. (Dr.) Navin Sheth
Vice chancellor, GTU
By the virtue of the blessings of Supreme Power and good wishes of you all, I feel immense pleasure to share that I have taken over the charge of Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad.
I take note of contribution of my former V.C. Dr. Akshai Aggarwal. During his tenure GTU has started various innovative and benchmarked frontiers of technical education. I would like to congratulate all faculty, administrative staff, students and all stakeholders, who are contributing to various such innovative frontiers started by GTU till date.
My every step now onwards for this university will be dedicated towards the advancement of knowledge and educating our students in adopting more scientific methods, and technology for more and more practical aspect. Technology and other distinguished areas of science should best serve the community, society and humanity at large. My prime priority will be to promote research activities at GTU which aims to develop innovative solutions to the most daunting challenges of our society and nation. The aim of technical education is to make human life more happy and healthy not at the cost of any section of society. It is always for the welfare of society and it should reach to the grass-root level.
Now, we have to take consistent and forward steps in direction to making GTU, a World Class University. I believe in mantra of “Together We Can, We should and We will”. So lets come forward and start working together to establish an Education Ecosystem, which nurtures and flourishes not only each stake holder of GTU but also nurture and flourish to entire society by and large.
If you have some innovative ideas or suggestions to achieve above goal, I will appreciate the same and I and my team of GTU will be happy to facilitate you for the same. Anticipating your continuous feedback to improve the whole system!
With warm wishes
Prof. (Dr.) Navin Sheth
